Forgot to mention....

.... I was featured on IndieSmiles. Check it out HERE!

Thanks Tracy!

Decorating

The problem with decorating is all the hard work thats needed before seeing any results. Yesterday was spent moving furniture etc, sanding down the walls and removing the curtains, the "decorative-hangy-bit-that-I-can't-remember-the-proper-name-for" and washing. The fun didn't stop there, oh no, I put the curtains in to wash and the washing machine overflowed with suds all over the kitchen floor because the soap drawer was full of gunk. Hopefully that will be as eventful as it gets.

(I always feel the need to point out that this colour scheme was inherited.......).

I didn't realise quite how much stock and craft supplies I had so I've taken the decision to clear two walls and start with those before moving stuff over from the other walls. This plan may change but I need to be able to get to things easily for orders etc.

You can see how bright the colours are. I've had to sand down where the two colours meet (in a wavey pattern no less) and cover with a small amount of paint, to try block any lines showing through.

I'm thinking at least three coats of paint are going to be needed? Wish me luck! I'm hoping I can persuade the boyf to do the gloss for me - look at that radiator for a start!!

New Buys

We went for a mooch around the local Dunelm store on Monday night and I came back with these:
Fabric paint and ink pads - love stamping at the moment and waiting for some new ones to arrive. The ink pads were 89p, I usually pay quite a bit more at a local craft shop so I thought I'd make the most of it. Good job there was a limited supply of colours as I fear I might have gone OTT :)
Most of the fabrics are big, bold prints, a lot of florals, more for upholstery and curtains I would say but I did pick up these which were very reasonably priced and help add to my fabric stash:

I love this one! I love buying new craft 'stuff' (especially fabrics!) but sometimes don't know where to start, even though I have lots of ideas! Usually when this happens, I leave things a few days and go back to them. However, I've got plans for this fabric which I've already started with but, typically, the camera battery ran out of charge before I could photograph and show. Will share another time!

Corner of my Room

Thanks for the comments re the paint! Its always difficult to work out the exact colours on a pc but, in case you're interested, I decided to go with the paint on the right as its a bit richer and the room is quite big.
I'm in the process of slowly (!!) trying to tidy up and organise everything. As you can see, I'm yet to tackle the growing piles of fabric (patchwork pieces piled up just of shot).
One day I'll have a lovely tidy room!

Fancy a giveaway? Head over to Aquamarineart - Tara's just hit the 100 followers mark and is celebrating!

PS - Haven't forgotten that I was going to do a giveaway. I'm just waiting for the right moment (ha!) and trying to decide what I'm going to give. OK, I did forget, but what I said is partly true, I've not decided what to give! Sometime soon, perhaps when I hit the 60 followers mark? Hopefully not too long to go ............

Waiting for paint to dry.........

......... so I can decide what colour to paint my 'office' (I always feel a bit pompous calling it my office when its a spare room really!).
The bright green is not my choice and was inherited along with the room when I moved in and whilst I've been saying I'd like to decorate for some months now, my hand has been slightly forced.
Without going into too much detail before everything is finalised, there has been some good news with regard to my business and if all goes to plan, in the next few weeks and months I shall be online and doing some chats/Q&A's via webcam. So there's NO WAY this colour can stay!

These are the two colours I chose. Bearing in mind the above, I want to keep it fairly neutral and clean looking as I can then hang pictures etc as I want. I'm undecided - both look OK (and anything's an improvement!). I know they're quite simillar but which would you choose? Left or right?
