Last week was the Big 3-0! I cannot begin to tell you how much I was dreading it. I'm not a 'fan' of birthdays particularly but I was really dreading 30, I think because it means getting older (I know, I know, its not that old!) and when you're younger you think that by the time you're 30 you'll have reached all these milestones and for me, one of those milestones was having children.
In the end though, as we all know, its just another birthday. It comes and it goes. And of course, I'm now pregnant and I guess its taken the so-called-pressure (although it was entirely of my own doing) off of me. I had a lovely day, we went shopping and had lunch out.
This week we have the dating scan and will get to see baby for the first time. I'm so excited, the days are going to drag until the appointment arrives. I'm also eager to know if I'm as far along as they think, or further!
So far there's been some morning sickness although I do disagree with the term. For me its been more like most-of-the-day-and-evening-everyday-sickness, particularly for the last week. I'm really off of my food and anyone that knows me will say that's most unlike me (!) but the last few days have seen me craving chewy fruity sweets.
I've also been feeling incredibly tired although I'm told that this eases off in the second trimester (I really hope so!). There's so much I need to be doing, making, updating my Folksy and Etsy shops, blogging more, as well as the everyday chores but I guess there's plenty of time for that.
Back soon!
PS - The flowers were a birthday surprise. I'm a lucky girl.
I had cravings for apples with two of my three, and now they are grown...I bet you can't guess what they like to drink?
ReplyDeleteYep, both like cider
And "morning sickness" is definitely a misnomer
Happy Birthday! Hope you start feeling better soon. Juliex
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. ( I turned 36 this year its not bad) enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteOoo I'll be intrigued to hear how far along you are too! With my second I always swore blind I was further along then the scans said (I'm pretty sure I had implantation bleeding) but everyone said 'no no, your definitely due this date' and low and behold little Isabelle arrived at 38wks or 41wks as I reckoned she was weighing almost exactly the same as her sister who was born at 40wks. Its all very exciting! Make notes of all these little thoughts and feelings too. You forget them SO quickly when they arrive.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and I guess without even a drop of Champers to toast! Kxxx
